Companies and Profit

As Bubba and I took a morning stroll in, the wind was wafting through the trees and the sun was to look over the horizon. It was a beautiful morning, yesterday where all your senses feel alive. People who used to be strangers, stopped and said good morning. Passing cars beeped and drivers waved hello.

As Bubba is not one for conversation, I had plenty of time to ponder things. As some passing cars set of greenhouse gas emissions, and the smell overpowered the smell of flowers, I began to think about global warming, and cars in general.

We all accepted the concept of planned obsolescence with car parts because parts were American made and designed jobs for us. Now we still have planned obsolescence all parts are made in China. Check the box next time you need to replace the car part, knowing that part was deliberately given a specific shelf life so it would have to be replaced. Our government took over the automobile industry because – again – it meant jobs for Americans. The big three have taken many of the factories to other countries.

automobile business can make vehicles that do not use gasoline. They have had patents for years. Automobile companies have invested their profits in stocks of oil and gas companies. By making cars that use gasoline, they also make money on the stocks they own. I think global warming and the fact their grandchildren might not have air to breathe does not matter as long as the money is made now.

Corporations are persons for tax purposes. The government looks at these companies and that it could be one million common stock owned. Government figures then this company is one million people. This is not entirely true. There are common stock and the preferred stock. The preferred stock may only be owned by a hundred people. In the case of Walmart I believe the preferred stock are held by only family and a few other individuals. What is good for Walmart is not good for common shareholders and greatly benefit preferred stock holders, family members Sam Walton.

AT & T and the Baby Bell, as it was known, was forced to separate because of Taft Hartley Anti Trust law. They have once again merged with Cingular thrown in for good measure. I guess the anti-trust law no longer applies.

When hurricanes struck Florida, I called the emergency number for the state. I was very surprised, although I should not have been, have had a man in India answer the call. In my naivety I had expected to talk with American operators in emergency

General Electric -. The company that is good for life – is one of the greatest bulwarks companies in the world. There is more profit in doing things that kill people but to do “good things”

Technically, when someone owns a piece of property -. The property extends from the center of the earth to the sky. The government decided that this might be true, but the government had to Airwave is above all the land. The government gave free use of these airwaves to broadcast, cable and television. We now pay for the use of our own airwaves. Anti-trust – again – said that companies or firms might just mean – I believe – 5% of all media. This too is no longer true.

‘news’ sites is prohibited. We hear that big companies want us to. The government allows these companies to feed us all the propaganda the government wants to hear. A good example of this is the Sunday morning ‘Talking Heads’ on almost every major television channel. Anyone who would like to find out what is really happening in this country should go on line and read what BBC and other foreign companies are reporting about America.

Virginia Tech tragedy was horrendous. Instead of giving due respect to the victims and their families, the media descended on Virginia Tech as vultures – if it bleeds it leads

corporations do not like the Internet because they can not hide their secrets .. A little research on the internet will show what they are and what they do. It also gives the public to see their memory, their security warnings and how they treat their employees. In addition, when someone makes any research, they found most of the factories owned by these companies are no longer in America. When people think they are buying American Made products in fact they are not – only the front office will still be located here. When buying anything -. Read the label or on the box to see where these items were actually produced

This is a subject to tariffs. For those who do not know the meaning of, or is unfamiliar with the word, the tariff is charged by the government for any items imported from another country. Tariffs were put in place to protect American manufacturers. If it costs, let’s say, $ 5.00 to the production of an object, and the same thing has been produced elsewhere and only cost $ 2.00, fees were charged at $ 2.00 point that American companies would be able to compete with foreign imports. If US companies have items made in a foreign country and then came to the United States for sale, no price is charged. That is why there are basically very few manufacturing companies left in the United States. Most opened factories overseas because labor is much cheaper and where profits are higher.

I recently heard a report required output in the United States is growing. If you factor out McDonalds – I do not see production, the numbers drop significantly

A few months ago, the spirit of my guide warned me not to buy any products containing wheat gluten .. This held true for pet people food. I was specifically warned about store bought bread. As we are all aware, there was a massive recall recently about pet food containing wheat gluten. A few days later we were told that the contaminated wheat gluten was also devoted to human consumption.

I’m not quite sure what the wheat gluten is, but I know we grow large quantities of wheat in this country. I would assume, albeit incorrectly, that we are able to produce its own wheat gluten us. Why it has to be imported from China still baffles me.

A few months ago, there was a massive recall of spinach because people were getting sick and dying from it. It has recently been announced FDA knew about this tainted spinach but not to inform the public. I think I was under the mistaken impression FDA, the watchdog organization the main purpose was to protect the public.

I want to make it clear that I am not against the companies. I may just be an idealist, but I think the people and the security should come before profit.
